Meet our Administrators

Dr. Melissa Lloyd

Principal, Lugoff Elementary School

I am humbled and honored to serve as the principal of Lugoff Elementary School. Born and raised in Camden, SC, I am a proud graduate of Camden High School (CHS). Upon graduating from CHS, I attended Clemson University, where I received a BA in Elementary Education. After graduating from Clemson, I returned home to Camden and taught 4th and 5th grades at Camden Elementary (now Jackson School) and Pine Tree Hill Elementary. While teaching, I returned to graduate school and received a Masters in Educational Administration from Winthrop University and an Education Specialist Degree in Counselor Education from the University of South Carolina. In 1998, I joined the Lugoff Elementary School family as assistant principal and became the principal of this outstanding school in 2004. Truly a life long learner, I completed my academic career by earning a Doctorate in 2014 from Walden University.

Outside of school, I am very fortunate to be married to my own personal gourmet chef, Reggie (who is an attorney by trade).  Together, we have one son,  William, who is also a Clemson graduate and works as a chemist, and are fur parents to a Siberian Husky who definitely lives up to her name, Storm!  Welcome to your Counts family!

Jennifer Bonds

Assistant Principal.

I am so grateful and excited to continue serving the Counts family as Assistant Principal at Lugoff Elementary School. I attended the University of South Carolina, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. After graduating, I taught in early childhood education for sixteen years. While teaching, I earned a Master of Science in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University and a second master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

I joined the Counts family in 2022 as a Kindergarten teacher, and I feel incredibly blessed to continue my journey at Lugoff Elementary as Assistant Principal. I am passionate about creating a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. I believe strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student success, and I look forward to working alongside our students, families, and staff throughout the year.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family. My husband and I have three wonderful children: our daughter, Charlee, who attends Lugoff Elementary, and our two sons, Hollen and Callum. We also enjoy spending time with our yellow Lab, Belle, who keeps our family entertained!

I look forward to meeting each of you and partnering together for a wonderful school year. Go Counts!
