School Lunch and Breakfast Program

School Lunch and Breakfast Program

The cafeteria manager and her staff provide nourishing, well-balanced lunches for students, visitors, and staff.  While students are encouraged to eat the lunches prepared at school, they may bring a lunch from home.  They may not, however, bring drinks in glass containers.

On our website, you will find our breakfast and lunch options.  To find the menus, go to  In  the middle of the page, click on “ Weekly Meal SignUp,”  to the far left, click on “menus” in the middle of the page, and then click on  Mealviewer KCSD Menus. ”  From here you will select our school and then the month.  You can toggle between lunch and breakfast options at the top of the page.  Especially with our younger students, we ask parents to please discuss with their child each morning prior to coming to school what they will select to eat.   The School Food Service determines meal prices in the summer. ALL students will receive free breakfast and lunch this year as a part of the Community Eligibility  Program (CEP).  If a student wants a second meal, they must pay the adult prices of $4.85 for lunch and $3.10 for breakfast. Milk is $.75 per half pint.  No change will be returned to students or adults. The change will be added to the students’ accounts.  If you wish to send money for extra food items, you may send it in with your child or use to add money to his/her account.

Even though all students will eat breakfast and lunch for free this year, families will still  be held responsible for any charges incurred the past three years. This includes charges incurred when free and reduced applications were not completed prior to the expiration deadlines the past few years.  You will receive automated and paper notices if this applies to you.  Unpaid fees follow your child  through high school and can affect his/her  ability to graduate.  Please contact Dr. Misha Lawyer,Coordinator of Nutrition Services, if you would like to discuss a payment plan (803-432-8416).

The cafeteria provides many opportunities to learn and practice social skills and good manners.  Students may talk with one another in acceptable, conversational tones.  Cafeteria monitors may be provided for each school during lunch hours. Administration will also help monitor during lunch periods.
