Important Information for Parents

This message is to inform you that SC-DHEC has revised their school exclusion requirement related to COVID-19 in response to the CDC’s March 2024 updated guidance.

SC-DHEC no longer requires a five day isolation period for students and staff who test positive for COVID-19. COVID-19 cases will be treated like all other respiratory illnesses and we will use fever guidelines for exclusion from school.

As a reminder, anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher or temp of 100 with a sore throat and/or cough should stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications such as acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen (motrin, advil).

In order to return, a parent note or staff statement that fever has resolved for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and symptoms are significantly improving will be required.
